Challenges

A client using Acumatica Cloud ERP needed to change the field name “Customer Order Number” to “File Number” on the AR Invoice screen. This change was necessary to align the system with the client’s terminology and streamline invoice processing.

Solution

A customized solution was implemented using Acumatica’s built-in Customization Package functionality.

Steps Taken:

Create a Customization Package: A new customization package was created within the Acumatica system.

Add the AR Invoice Screen: The AR 301000 screen (corresponding to the AR Invoice screen) was added to the customization package.

Select the Target Field: The “Customer Order Number” field was located and selected on the AR 301000 screen layout within the customization package.

Customize Attributes: The “Customize Attributes” option for the selected field was accessed.

Rename the Field: The field name was changed from “Customer Order Number” to “File Number” within the attribute settings.

Save and Publish: The customization package was saved, and then published to apply the changes to the live Acumatica environment.

Results: After publishing the customization package, the “Customer Order Number” field on the AR Invoice screen was successfully replaced with “File Number.”
