Acumatica: Filtering Transactions by Logged-In Branch

This video demonstrates a solution within Acumatica for filtering transaction data by the user’s currently logged-in branch. 

Challenges

  • Acumatica lacks a default field for filtering by the currently logged-in branch. This limitation makes it difficult for users to view transactions specific to their branch. 
  • The logged-in branch information isn’t directly stored in the database. This necessitates a custom solution to capture and utilize this information for filtering purposes. 

Solution & Benefits

To address these challenges, a customisation package was created. 

  • The package introduces a “current branch” field. This field is globally accessible within Acumatica and stores the currently logged-in branch. 
  • This new field is integrated into Generic Inquiries (GIs). This allows users to filter transaction data by their branch.

  • Users can efficiently view transactions relevant to their branch. This eliminates the need to sift through irrelevant data from other branches.
